Commercial Lawyer

Kayla is a Commercial Lawyer with a robust background in social justice and public service. As a Sunshine Coast local, Kayla jumped right into the deep end spending her first years of legal practice in regional Western Australia, primarily in the fields of Child Protection, Criminal Law and Family Law. Kayla was also the Geraldton Legal Aid Duty Lawyer for Restraining Orders, where she honed the skills of advocacy and tactical negotiation.

Kayla has transitioned into the realm of commercial law with a unique blend of expertise, dedication, and a profound commitment to justice in every matter she handles.
Kayla works primarily in the areas of intellectual property, contract law, property law and commercial agreements.

It is Kayla’s belief that no two clients are the same, and the key to effective legal outcomes lies in understanding each individual clients’ goals and challenges. She is known for her approachable demeanour, strategic thinking, and gift of foresight. Clients appreciate her ability to demystify legal intricacies and her relentless pursuit of favourable outcomes.

Coming from a family of business owners, Kayla continues to be inspired by the grit and courage of business owners and entrepreneurs and has always had an interest in protecting and strengthening that work.

Kayla was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2020 and joined us at Sajen in 2023.

Having worked for a former Sajen Accord client during her studies, Kayla witnessed first-hand Sajen’s unwavering dedication to its clients, and knew that was where she belonged.

In her downtime, Kayla is likely to be stuck into a DIY project, camping, or doing some form of outdoor activity with her kelpie side kick.
